The Girl Scout Gold Award Alliance is an organization for recipients of Girl Scouting's highest honors for girls:
- Girl Scout Gold Award (1980-present)
- First Class Award (1963-80)
- Curved Bar (1938-63)
- Golden Eaglet (1916-38)
Despite name changes and requirements revisions of Girl Scouting's highest recognition, recipients of these awards have always epitomized the dedication, commitment and perseverance gained through Girl Scouting.
The goals of the Girl Scouts of Greater
Atlanta Gold Award Alliance are:
- To promote and support the program for girls ages 11-17, especially the Girl Scout Gold Award.
- To educate and promote, both inside and outside of Girl Scouting, the significance of earning the Girl Scout Gold Award.
- To adhere to the purpose of the Girl Scout Gold Award Alliance and Friends of the Girl Scout Gold Award Alliance as established by the Girl Scouts of the USA.
By joining the Girl Scouts of Greater
Atlanta Gold Award Alliance, women honor their successes then and now, rekindle
old ties and establish new contacts, help today's Girl Scouts become leaders
and reconnect to the movement that helped recipients of the highest award for
girls realize their full potential.
As a recipient of the Girl Scout Gold
Award, each graduating senior who has earned the award is given a one-year membership
to the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Gold Award Alliance. For information on
joining the Girl Scout Gold Award Alliance, download
the registration form and/or contact Kathryn Anderson (404) 372-2172 or
Lynda Goodwin (770) 393-1766.
