CEO/Volunteer Board Chairman

Marilyn W. Midyette
Chief Executive Officer
Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, Inc.

Marilyn W. Midyette joins the council as a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of professional experience, most recently as Regional Vice President of Sprint Communications.  In addition to corporate best practices, she brings a significant understanding of not-for-profit management and fundraising gained from serving as a volunteer in strong leadership positions on boards including the Georgia Alzheimer's Association, the William and Mary Alumni Association, the Fund for William and Mary, and Mt. Paran-Northside Citizens Association.

Midyette began her Girl Scout journey in our sister organization as a Girl Guide in England at the age of six. She is very familiar with Girl Scout and Boy Scout traditions claiming several Eagle Scouts in her immediate family.

In accepting her new position, Midyette communicated her enthusiasm and excitement stating "I am delighted to be part of an organization that is going from Good to Great. Girl Scouts across America are rebranding and recreating themselves as the premiere leadership program for girls and young women.  Our new program model, focused on leadership development, resonates with today's girls and has significant implications for our society both locally and globally.  As a servant leader, professional and volunteer, being part of this transformation is a blessing beyond measure!"
